Six Senses Resort Ibiza: MY EXPERIENCE - More Than Just a Getaway
Disclaimer: This article is not a paid partnership. Many of our guests at Haller Experience have repeatedly mentioned the Six Senses Resort Ibiza and emphasized how restorative and relaxing their stay was. This feedback made me curious, and I wanted to see it for myself. Therefore, I want to share my personal impressions of Six Senses Ibiza. At the end of this article, I will provide my conclusions and mention the points that, in my opinion, could be improved or that I missed.
Introduction: The Much-Needed Break at Six Senses Ibiza
After a long and intense season with Haller Experience, it was time for us to take a break. We had been under a lot of stress, with numerous projects and little room for rest and reflection. Six Senses Ibiza promised us exactly what we needed: a place of relaxation, recovery, and mindfulness. We wanted not only to replenish our physical reserves but also to recharge internally. And that is exactly what we achieved – with some unexpected highlights, new insights, and a few minor areas for improvement.
Yoga and Morning Routines: A Perfect Start to the Day at Six Senses Ibiza
We had planned to start each day with a yoga session. Unfortunately, we only managed it once because we just enjoyed sleeping in so much. Our room was a Seaview Junior Suite. What stood out was how well soundproofed the room was. Even though we had neighbors, we really didn’t hear anything as long as the windows were closed. The electric blinds were also a blessing for a "dark sleeper" like me. The bed was a little short for me (2 meters x 2 meters), but that's just a matter of habit. The bed and bedding were as comfortable as you'd love it to be at home. Besides the terrace and the view, I especially appreciated the spacious bathroom. Although we never used the bathtub – maybe because Jessica discovered the hotel’s body scrub only at the end of our stay – it was just nice to have. I particularly liked the large shower and have definitely added it to my list for when we eventually build a house – that's how I want my shower to look.
But that one time we did manage to get up for yoga, it really was the perfect start to the day. The mix of stretching and gentle exercises flooded us with endorphins and motivated us to approach the day actively. Even though we only did it once, the difference was palpable: that day, we were not only physically more active but also mentally more relaxed and balanced.
Breakfast at Six Senses Ibiza: Pure Enjoyment
Being able to have breakfast until 11 a.m. should be the standard at every hotel, in my opinion. We enjoyed taking our time to get ready for breakfast and eat at our leisure. We especially loved the pink chia yogurt, which we liked to refine with protein yogurt, homemade granola, and goji berries. Breakfast at Six Senses Ibiza was included, and the selection was truly excellent. Since there was unfortunately no opportunity to satisfy our sweet cravings in the afternoon, we secretly took some cake and cookies from the breakfast buffet to our room – a little indulgence that sweetened our later afternoon slump.
Fitness & Wellbeing at Six Senses Ibiza: Back to Old Form
I finally started working out at the gym again, and the daily muscle soreness felt like a small triumph – a sign that I was doing something. During the week, I was able to increase from five to seven pull-ups, which is still far from my old form, but it’s a start. Right after working out, I went to the cryo sauna. With "Eye of the Tiger" in my ears, nothing could stop me afterward. The feeling of strength and vitality was simply unbeatable and made me realize that I definitely want to incorporate this ritual into my daily routine.
Stretching and Massages at Six Senses Ibiza: A New Understanding
Jessica loves massages – but me? Massages have always been nice but not really necessary for me. I could relax, but rarely felt a deeper effect. However, during our stay at Six Senses Ibiza, I tried stretching massages, and it was a real eye-opener. The combination of breathing and targeted stretching with the support of a trainer was not only good for me physically, but it also brought me a different kind of mental relaxation. It was logical to me that stretching after a workout has a positive effect, but this experience really convinced me. The sports stretching massage lasted about an hour and cost 190 euros – a price I think was absolutely worth it. In the future, I will definitely opt for stretching massages over deep-tissue massages and look into what options are available near me.
Qi Gong at Six Senses Ibiza: More Than Just a Surprise
I must admit, I was initially skeptical when we decided to try Qi Gong. The movements reminded me more of old Karate Kid movies and less of an effective workout. But my preconception was quickly dispelled. Qi Gong turned out to be a combination of stretching and breathing exercises that gave my body incredible recovery. The esoteric part, such as gathering negative energies into an imaginary energy ball, initially felt strange. But as we filled this "ball" with negative experiences and later returned it to the earth, I genuinely felt a change. A new sense of inner calm and contentment set in. Qi Gong positively surprised me and opened up new possibilities for relaxation.
Personal Development and Coaching at Six Senses Ibiza: Deep Insights
Beyond the physical activities, personal development was also a major part of our time at Six Senses Ibiza. We not only took time for ourselves, but we also booked several sessions with coaches. Each of us created a vision board, we wrote down personal affirmations, and had long conversations that helped us understand each other even better. A massage session with a so-called medium in the Rose Bar left us both with different and personal experiences. In my case, it turned into something like an "ancestral regression," showing me that certain behaviors in my family repeat over time. Instead of feeling frustrated, it motivated me because I am now able to recognize these patterns and break them.
Workshops and Creativity at Six Senses Ibiza: Crafting as Relaxation
On a rainy afternoon, we decided to participate in one of the many workshops offered at Six Senses Ibiza. We made natural food wraps using beeswax and fabric scraps. It wasn’t just fascinating to see how effective this type of storage is, but it was also incredibly fun to do something hands-on. This "work during a vacation" was deeply relaxing for me and showed me that creativity and craftsmanship play a big role in clearing my mind.
Meditation at Six Senses Ibiza: A Calm End to the Day
Every evening at around 6:30 p.m., there was a free group meditation session at Six Senses Ibiza. These varied from sound bowl ceremonies to breathing meditations. I especially enjoyed the yoga meditation, which showed me my own limits in flexibility. Meditation has shown me how important it is to feel gratitude in the evening and let go of the day’s stress. It was a wonderful way to end the day and replenish new energy.
My Conclusion on Six Senses Ibiza: What I Loved and What I Missed
Six Senses Ibiza is a place of relaxation, recovery, and mindfulness – and it’s definitely more than just a luxury resort. It offers a variety of experiences that cater to both the body and the mind. I particularly enjoyed the combination of fitness, relaxation, and coaching, which opened up new perspectives for me. I discovered new methods that I plan to integrate into my daily routine, whether it's stretching after exercise, meditation, or Qi Gong.
What I missed, however, was an experience manager to help put together the right program. There were so many offerings that we had to orient ourselves at first and often had to proactively ask for advice. A central contact person who caters to the guests' individual needs would be a valuable addition.
The evening entertainment could also be expanded. We would have liked to see some live music or an entertainer in the evening to end the day with a drink. It would also have been nice to have a better selection of snacks in the afternoon.
Overall, the stay at Six Senses Ibiza was an incredibly enriching experience that I would recommend to anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and recharge both physically and mentally. Haller Experience will continue to recommend this resort because of the numerous positive feedback from our guests, and we can now fully understand these impressions.
